The U symbol stands for Universal. A U film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over.
In a U movie the only "bad language" we listen would be word like "damn" or "hell", not more than this.
No sexual behaviour, violence and use of drugs is shown in a U rated movie.
PG stands for Parental Guidance. This means a film is suitable for general viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. A PG film should not unsettle a child aged around eight or older.
PG works can explore challenging issues such as bullying, bereavement or racism. In a PG rated movie we can use "shit" or "son of a bitch" as a bad language, but only in dialogue were people is clearly angry. There wouldn't be any sexual references, and violence would usually be mild. Instead for drugs there would be some references to illegal drugs and drugs but is not focused. It's up to the knowledge of the child to understand it or no.
Films classified 12A and video works classified 12 contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. The differences between a film rated 12A and a film rated 12 is that the children under 12 cannot watch a movie rated 12 without an adult.
Some horror films are rated 12 and 12A, as long as long sequence of horror and violence and disturbing scene are not frequent.
There would be more sight of drugs and illegal drugs but again it won't be in detail.

In my opinion the target audience for our movie thriller should be
In our movie there will scene with strong violence, strong horror, and a lot of blood.
From the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) I've seen that only the rating of 18 matches the description for our thriller movie. So I assume that is the best rating we could have.
